The un today marked initial International Day of this Girl Child by calling for a finish to son or daughter wedding, and stressing training among the most readily useful approaches for protecting girls from this harmful training.

“Education for women is amongst the most useful approaches for protecting girls against son or daughter wedding,” Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon stated in the message during the day. “When they could stay static in college and early avoid being married, girls can develop a foundation for an improved life on their own and their loved ones.”
